Welcome to Callumkill
Welcome to Callumkill, an estate situated at the South Eastern corner of the Isle of Islay, the southern-most isle of the Inner Hebrides. We are offering self-catering accommodation and and hunting.
Callumkill Farmhouse is more than 200 years old. It is located on a ridge overlooking fallow deer grazing in the fields, the pagodas of both Ardbeg and Lagavulin distilleries, and the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day the skyline of Ireland appears on the southern horizon and to the east the island of Arran as well as the Mull of Kintyre are visible. A perfect place for relaxed island holidays.
Ardbeg Cottage was the home of Callumkill´s shepherd. We have converted it to a cozy retreat.
The setting of both houses is tranquil and remote, yet the village of Port Ellen is only three miles away.
In addition to that three Islay distilleries Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig, famous for their full flavoured peaty whiskies, are within walking distance. We take pride in the fact that lochs and rivers on Callumkill supply Lagavulin and Ardbeg distilleries with the water that makes those distinctive drams.
We offer red and fallow Deer Stalking and Rough Shooting.
Callumkill itself is full of History. There are about 27 officially registered archaeological sites on the Estate.
