We offer Red Deer and Fallow Deer Stalking for up to 3 hunters.

Depending on the time of the year we can offer up to 3 hunting days per week.

The first hunting day starts about 09:00 h. No matter if you use our rifle or bring your own, each hunter will be asked to shoot in a lying position at a target at 100 metres. This to ensure that every hunter is comfortable with the rifle and that it’s accurate.

Our game keeper will know the best places to walk up to locate your deer depending on wind direction and prevailing conditions. Please note however that the deer are wild and we cannot guarantee that there will always be an opportunity for a shot.

When the deer are located only you and our game keeper beginn the final approach. He will select a deer that, in his opinion, is suitable to be culled. This will usually involve crawling on the ground in order to avoid detection by the deer.

Once you have reached a suitable distance the selected deer will be described to you.
When the deer is standing correctly a shot can be taken.

After a successful shot your deer will be collected by our game keeper and brought to our deer larder.

Fallow deer stalking is mainly done on our lower ground which consists of a very diverse habitat including meadows, woods, scrubs rocky outcrops and moor. Fallow deer stalking days tend to be shorter than red deer stalking days.

We are trying to maximize the changes for our hunting guests and chances depend on the weather among other things. For this reason we cannot say in advance on which days the hunt will be. We inform the client on Friday or Saturday the week before. We do not hunt on Saturdays and Sundays.

Hunters are required to have at least an average level of physical fitness, since our ground is uneven, sometimes steep and crawling is often requried to sucessfully aproach deer.

We are offering deer stalking only in combination with one of our self-catering holiday houses Callumkill Farmhouse or Ardbeg Cottage which are both located on our estate. That means your hunting days starts and end right at your door step.
