We offer walked-up rough shooting on woodcock, snipes and wild pheasant up to 2 days per week
for up to 3 guns.

Callumkill shoots a maximum of 6 days per season in order to ensure that you will have a quality outing and that we keep our numbers of woodcock, snipe and pheasant. However, please note that the birds migrate so we cannot guarantee that they will be there in good numbers everyday.

This is the purest form of rough shooting, walked up through Islay´s native original broadleave woodland and over rocky ridges or the flat land with our game keeper to guide you and his dogs.
Hunters can bring along their own pointers if they are trained well.

Callumkills appreciates if clients keep all birds they shot (free of charge).

Rough shooting can be nicely combined with one or two days of female deer stalking.

We are offering rough shooting only in combination with one of our self-catering holiday houses
Callumkill Farmhouse or Ardbeg Cottage which are both located on our estate. That means your hunting days starts and end right at your door step.
